“Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord
rather than for men;
knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of
the inheritance.
It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.”
Colossians 3:23-24 (NASB)
Creative Ministry Purpose
The
purpose of creative ministries is to minister to people of
all ages through interpretive movement, puppetry, drama,
music, humor, and personal testimony. This ministry team
will serve as a witness of Jesus Christ, with each person
using his/her God given talents and abilities.
Creative Ministry Responsibilities
-
Any
student (6th – 12th grade) or
Senior Adult (ages 50 and older) are welcome to
participate in the Creative Ministry Program of
Ascension Baptist Church.
-
Everyone (students, senior adults, or leaders) is
expected to arrive promptly to all practices or
rehearsals. No one is allowed to leave during practice
without permission. Anyone who becomes a major
distraction will be asked to leave.
-
The
realization must be made by everyone that participation
in Creative Ministries requires a high level of
commitment. Therefore, every practice is important
because the primary purpose of practice/rehearsal is to
learn new material and improve our skills.
-
Everyone is expected to notify or contact the Associate
Pastor or one of the Creative Ministry Leaders at least
24 hours before a rehearsal/practice, or an opportunity
to lead in worship if I will be unable to attend for any
reason. If one of the four people has not been
contacted, the participant may lose his/her opportunity
to participate in the upcoming worship service.
-
Everyone is expected to carry out their assigned duties
at rehearsal/practice, and at opportunities to lead in
worship promptly and cheerfully.
-
Everyone is expected not to bring electronic games,
chewing gum, or any other distractions into
rehearsal/practice times, or an opportunity to lead in
worship.
-
Everyone is expected to attend the evening worship
service.
-
Everyone must realize that their witness to other people
is influenced by their appearance and dress. Therefore,
everyone is expected to follow the ABC Student Ministry
Dress Code.
-
Everyone is requested to provide a pair of navy, khaki,
and black pants (slacks), and the church will provide
the shirts and other materials needed to participate in
this ministry.
-
Everyone is expected to have fun.
